Hempstead Meadows Nature Reserve

Owned by: Uckfield Town Council. This Local Nature Reserve runs alongside the River Uck floodplain and is an important wetland habitat in the heart of Uckfield and is subject to periodic flooding during the Winter months. Habitats include regularly inundated tussocky damp grassland, ditches, scrub, established trees including willow, alder, and black poplars and mixed grassland.

Rotherfield Recreation Ground

The Recreation Ground houses the village Sports Club, which, with help from the Parish Council, maintains the football and cricket pitches to a very high standard. In the corner of the ground is the very popular Bowls Club, which is much used in summer; in the winter the Bowls continue in the village hall. There are picnic benches at the Playing Fields.
Five Ashes Village Hall and Memorial Playing Field

Managed by: Trustees of the Five Ashes Village Hall. The playing field at Five Ashes village hall extends to an area of about 1.6 Hectares (4 Acres). It is generally flat and people are regularly seen walking the perimeter of the field for light exercise. Completion of the perimeter circuit will record about 1000 steps. Along this route is a display of indigenous trees and information boards explaining their benefit to wildlife.
